About the Event
The purpose of La Casita Day School's Open House is to provide parents with an opportunity to explore our unique Spanish immersion preschool and kindergarten programs. It offers a chance to meet our passionate educators, learn about our STREAM-based curriculum, and understand how our approach fosters bilingualism, cultural diversity, and academic readiness in a nurturing environment. Parents will have the opportunity to tour our classrooms, ask questions, and discover how La Casita prepares children for lifelong success.
Our Philosophy
We believe children are born with natural wisdom and a high capacity to learn when provided with support, an engaging curriculum, and an empowering environment. At La Casita Day School, children learn Spanish and critical early education skills by being immersed in the language naturally utilizing our high-quality arts-integrated curriculum. Children learn crucial skills that will provide a strong foundation for academic and life success while becoming bilingual and bicultural.
Methodology
At La Casita Day School, our curriculum is rooted in the “Affective Filter” approach, developed by renowned linguist Stephen Krashen. This approach emphasizes the importance of creating a low-anxiety environment to enhance language acquisition and overall learning.
Our Mission
To create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children learn Spanish and essential academic concepts through the STREAM (Science, Technology, Relationships, Engineering, Arts, and Math) method. By creating a calm and encouraging atmosphere, we empower each child to reach their fullest potential with creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning.
